Autocaust

In March 1923, in an interview with The New York Times, the British mountaineer George Leigh Mallory was asked why he wanted to climb Mount Everest, and replied, 'Because it's there'. When Seven Ten Bishop created Autocaust (the magazines and the music) it was because It was not there. They could not find a publication that said what they felt needed to be said or music that satisfied the specific tenor or topics that Seven Ten Bishop wanted executed. Seven Ten Bishop was on a mission, through both words and music, to blindfold the body of dissatisfaction and kill it. Through late night drinking sprays and all day musical fury sessions, Seven Ten Bishop wrote, screamed, pummelled, burned and hammered away at that which needed to die.

“This is scary. The songs go from industrial noise to punk experimentation-lots of fuzz and feedback. The lyrics are a stream of conscious journey through filthy back alleys and sexual weirdness. Apparently this project was conceived, written, recorded, mixed, and packaged in a 60-hour period. Um, you can tell.” - Punk Planet Magazine

By Daniel Joshua Nagelberg and Zebulun.

This issue is comprised primarily of online instant messages between the two writers. There are also some improvised pieces (sprays) written in a similar style to previous AUTOCAUST issues. All the work is presented anonymously to coax the reader to hear two men write with one voice. This issue is the literary equivalent of a dirty bomb. Packed with barbs, vitriol and shards of ideas, complaints and insight the issue explodes off the page into your mind's eye. If you can sleep at night through the suffering of the world then you can handle BEEF. Or can you?
